Federal German Navy from July 1974 until July 2004.

From January 1980 until September 1984 he was officer of the watch onboard of the submarines  'U 28', 'U 27' and 'U 30';

from October 1985 until September 1987 he was commanding officer
of 'U 23', from October 1989 until May 1992 commanding officer of 'U 10'.

Until retirement in July 2004 very important CO of various desks.

Painting with oilcolours is his hobby.
