A
lot of books have been published about submarines. Also comrades of
our association wrote own books or assisted other authors with their
experience as submariners.
U-boat
stories (German edition)
In
the year 1926 former WW I submariners founded the Munich Submariners
Association. In 1930 they published their book with submarine
narratives about WW I 'Wir leben noch!'.
The English version was published
in London in 1931 with the title
'U-boat
Stories. Narratives of German U-boat Sailors'.
We present one chapter of this edition written by Commander (ret.)
Karl Neureuther.
Our list
of submarine literature contains mainly German written submarine
literature.
Mike
Cooper provides a list of literature about German submarines
in WW I and II and also some other interesting books.
Our British
comrade Jak P. Mallmann Showell produced
an English written list of his
submarine books including some words concerning their content.
He is the son of a German
submariner, who sank with his boat in the Atlantic in January
1944, published some submarine literature. Have a look at the
English written descriptions.
Detailed
information about German submarines - from the first design phase
to the delivery - are written in a volume
of documentations. Most of the cover pictures of these books
were produced by our memberViktor Gernhard.
