The book about Germany's first submarine
- refoundation 1959 by former submariners of the Kriegsmarine, more than 130 members of different generations: WWII submariners and Federal German Navy submariners,

- linking element of both generations: fascination 'submarine' and experienced comradeship onboard.

Why is there a submariners association
in Bavarias capital Munich?

Bavarians were and are represented in all three German Navies (Imperial Navy, Kriegsmarine, Federal German Navy).

The Bavarian Wilhelm Bauer - born at Dillingen on Danube and buried at the Munich cemetery 'Alter Nördlicher Friedhof' - constructed Germany's first submersible boat.

Munich's famous technical museum 'Deutsches Museum' is the last base of the first German Imperial Navy's submarine 'U 1'.
